Jeep Electrical and Uconnect Problems: Find Your Fix by Symptom
Most Jeep electrical problems can be narrowed down from the symptom alone. Find what your Jeep is doing in the tables below and open the matching guide. Each one lists causes in the order to check them, with the owner's manual, recall and dealer-bulletin sources behind it.
Before you dig into a specific fault, do three free checks that clear up a lot of odd electrical behavior: look at the battery terminals for corrosion or looseness, find and check the fuse for the failing feature using the fuse chart in your owner's manual, and enter your VIN at NHTSA's recall lookup to see if a free fix is already waiting.
Screen, radio and Uconnect

A frozen Uconnect screen is the most common complaint in this group. This short shows the first thing to try:

When to stop and see a dealer
Book a dealer visit, rather than more DIY, when a warning light comes with a change in braking or steering feel, when the Jeep shuts off while moving, or when a recall shows up for your VIN. Recall repairs are free, and many radio and module faults are fixed with dealer software updates listed in service bulletins.
